Sightseeing of Zagreb
Guided tour of Zagreb, visitors can experience with two convertible tourist buses, and novelty is a carriage ride in the center of town.

For sightseeing of Zagreb we suggest a starting point to be Square Ban Jelacic located in the city center.
From the main square westward begins street Ilica, the longest and oldest streets in Zagreb. Ilica is also the main shopping street in the city center, where there are banks and shops of eminent global manufacturer of clothing and footwear.

From Ilica, towards the west at some 300m from the main square, you will reach one of the oldest organized public transport in Zagreb - the Funicular, which departs from Ilica to the Gornji Grad (The upper town)
When exiting the lift, you'll find yourself on the Strossmayer promenade in Gornji Grad.

Gornji Grad or Gradec (Grič) is the name of the old part of Zagreb, located on the slopes of Medvednica from which, together with Kaptol was founded Zagreb as we know today.

Gornji Grad is particularly interesting location not only for tourists but also for residents of Zagreb, there are also a large number of symbols of Zagreb among which we especially recommend to visit: Grič Cannon Zagreb's popular attractions, from which since 01.01.1877th every day at noon (12:00h) cannon marks that is a middle of the day; Tower Lotrščak, Kamenita Vrata (the Stone Gate), Markova Crkva (Mark's Church), Croatian Parliament and building of Croatian Government.

Descending from the Gornji Grad through the Kamenita Vrata across the street Radićeva and entering Tkalciceva (another cult street of Zagreb full of cafés and restaurants) reaches the the most famous marketplace "Dolac" , identifiable by their red umbrellas and homemade food that you can buy here .. leaving market Dolac from the east side you will get to the Zagreb Cathedral - the Kaptol.

Descend from the Capitol to the south again you are on the Ban Jelacic Square, and continuing to move towards the south, you will reach the popular Bogoviceva streets, where all the way to the Cvjetni Trg (The flower Square) are many cafes, restaurants, pastry and branded boutiques .. among the citizens of Zagreb this area is known as "Špica" (rush).
Do not be surprised if you see right here Croatian actors or singers, Bogoviceva is favorite meeting point of the Zagreb and the Croatian jet-set ..
Offer of drinks and food is varied and prices are ranges from 10-12kn (up to 2€) for coffee or 10kn (about 1.5 €) for heated wine during the winter period.

After drinking coffee, we recommend a stroll to the east, where at some 300 meters you will get to a beautiful green park in the city center - Park Zrinjevac, or Nikola Subic Zrinski Square.
There is also a park with sycamore avenue, which is part of the so-called Green or Lenuci horseshoe, consisting of eight Zagreb downtown squares. Zrinjevac covers an area of 12,540 m2.
In the northern part of the park stands meteorological pillar placed 1884th year as a gift from the surgeon Dr. Adolf Holzer.

In the center of town, we also suggest that you visit the Botanical garden, which extends along Mihanovićeva street, and from Zrinjevac is located approximately 500 meters to the west.
Botanical Garden in Zagreb (free entry) covers approximately 4.7 hectares, in which growth tens of thousands of plant species from Croatia and around the world. Among them there are those that are now endangered in nature.

If you want to enjoy nature and greenery, just a few minutes drive by car or public transport from the city center in the direction to Dubrava, you will reach Maksimir Park. (cost of public transport in Zagreb is 10-15 HRK depending purchasing a ticket in the vehicle or in a newspaper kiosk)

Park Maksimir is located in the eastern part of the city. For the public is open 1794th year and was the first public promenade in this part of Europe.
Maksimir is arranged in area of deforested oak forests in the mid 19th century.
The new park paths were arranged surrounded by meadows and glades full of decorative flowers and shrubs, around the park is natural oak forest.
The park is enriched with monuments and buildings built in different styles. Until today preserved are Švicarska kuća (the Swiss House), Belvedere, Vratareva koliba (Gatekeeper's Cabin), Pavilion of the echo etc.,
Within the park Maksimir is Zagreb Zoo which was recently renovated and which we certainly recommend to visit.

Sports and Recreation:
Nature Park Medvednica recognizable symbol of Zagreb, with its highest peak Sljeme (1033 m) is the favorite resort of the citizens of Zagreb. The centerpiece of this wooded mountain contains numerous paths, mountain houses, historical monuments and recreational facilities.
In winter Sljeme is a destination for skiers and other winter sports fans.
Peak Sljeme can be reached by car, bus or by walking / hiking through one of the many groomed trails on which to climbing takes about two hours.

Among the many cultural and natural attractions of the park we recommend you to visit: Medvedgrad, Bliznec, Sopot waterfall, Kamene svatove, Činovnička meadow, Gorsko zrcalo (the Mountain mirror), Horvat stairs, chapel Sljeme, Chapel of St. Jacob ...
In the park there are three facilities arranged for tourist visits: mine Zrinski, Cave Veternica and Medvedgrad.
